Taylor Blinds | History and humble beginings
Taylor Window Blinds started out repairing Venetian blinds in 1959 with my grandfather and his sons working out of the garage at their house in maitland, Cape Town. With countless hours repairing these venetian blinds they learned all the major flaws of the products at that time and realized they can improve these products and so Taylor Blinds was born!
- Today Taylor blinds is one of the foremost manufacturers of blinds and shutters in South Africa, employing 150 staff and offering a wide range of blinds as well as innovative “Plantation-style” shutters.
- Products are constantly reviewed and tested by the extensive Research and Development department, which has resulted in a number of patented components, products and even custom-built machinery.
- The main facility of Taylor blinds is a purpose-built factory of 8000 square metres (80 000 square feet) in Montague Gardens, Cape Town, with another factory and distribution centre in Johannesburg.
Our slogan reflects our goal: to really be “the best in blinds”. We are committed to supply the best products at reasonable prices, backed by excellent service.
In 2008 our efforts were rewarded, for the fourth consecutive year, by readers of The Star newspaper in Johannesburg, who voted Taylor blinds the Best Blinds Company.
